Rotates on the interlocking construction. 

Printed scale is 17"x17" but the size of the mat itself is 18"x18" 

This is due to the border of the design as well as our printer's requirement of leaving 1/2" all around. 

The 4 layer cutting mat itself is 2mm thick. Due to it being thinner, deep pressure, repeated cuts in the same spot or angling of blades and/or dull blades may make more visible marks on the mat. 

Per manufacture instructions, care and angulation when working with your blades will prolong mat life.
